At the annual business meeting, the MTNA Board of Directors will design amendments to Article V of the MTNA Bylaws, which relates to division officers. The intention of the amendment is to restructure the membership onward the Board of Directors to expand more effective lines of communication with the states between the sides of the division structure. The title "division president" and "division presidents-elect" will be changed to director and director-elect for each division.

The director will subserve on the Board of Directors and as director of the division. The division director-elect, prefered by the division membership, will automatically assume the position of director.

To provide a plain transition, it is proposed that the in every one's mouth division presidents will run for the Board of Directors in 2006 (2006-2008 term) if they in like manner choose. After the 2006-2008 bound the division directors-elect will be appointeded via election procedures in the present bylaws.

Article V Officers

Section 2 Division Officers and Duties

Officers of each Division shall be a Director and Director-elect.

a. The Director shall contribute to on the Board of Directors and shall preside at all division meetings.

b The Director-elect, about completion of his or her word of office, shall become Director of the Division. The Director-elect shall assume all the duties of the Director in the absence of that officer and shall attend as recording secretary.

b The Division Director-elect, about completion of his or her word of office, shall automatically become Director of the Division. Should the Director-elect be unable to assume the directorship, the Director shall be choiceed for that term only, in the same manner as the other officers.

Section 5 National and Division Vacancies and Removal

a. First paragraph (no changes)

A vacancy in any Division office, excepting that of Division Director, shall be filled for the unexpired expression by a plurality vote according to ballot of the Division membership. A Division Director-elect excellented in this manner cannot assume the office of Division Director unles selected to the office in the same manner as the other officers.
