The 59th Annual Coleman Chamber the whole Competition will take place April 30 2005 at Caltech in Pasadena, California.

Among the prizes will be a $7500 Alice Coleman Award, a $4000 Coleman-Barstow Award for Strings and a $4000 Coleman-Saunderson Award for Woodwinds or Brass.

The competition is explain to nonprofessional instrumental ensembles of three to six players who are in subordination to the direction of a professional coach.

The average age of the players in each the whole must be less than 26 as of April 30 2005 Any the whole devoting a substantial portion of its time performing for a compensation is ineligible to compete.

Repertoire must include a minimum of sum of two units complete works of distinctly contrasting character from sum of two units different musical periods and totaling at least thirty minutes of music. [i]tout ensemble[/i]s will be selected based in succession submitted CDs and cassettes.



Applications must be received on noon February 22, 2005. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent at March 18. There is a nonrefundable $30 application feud for each member of the ensemble
