MTNA member Amy Davis of Bountiful, Utah, is using her persona story to help others. Four years ago, she was involved in a cheerleading accident that nearly [i]finale[/i]ed her life. This traumatic brain injury place her life on a different course. An active musician, she believed she might not be able to play the piano or violin again. Davis realized after returning to teach at Weber State University in Utah that her life wasn't the same as before, still with personal determination along with support from family, friends and professors, she was able to vanquish the brain injury. In years following the accident, Davis has taken a proactive part helping others who have experienced similar injuries. She also has worked to educate the public about brain injuries and prevention methods

In June 2004 Davis participated in the Miss Utah Pageant, then further advanced to the Miss America Scholarship Pageant using "Prevention and Awareness of Brain Injuries" as her platform issue Participation in these struggle to defends gave Davis the opportunity to spread her message to other brain injury survivors, as well as teach the public means of prevention.



not long ago Davis was asked to be subservient to as the national spokesperson for the Brain Injury Association of America. In this character she will speak in various venue across the nation. Following her year of campaigning for the Brain Injury Association of America, she will strive for a master's degree in music.
