Thomas s Clark has been appointed dean of the academy of Music at the North Carolina institute of the Arts (NCSA).

Thomas s Clark has been appointed dean of the academy of Music at the North Carolina institute of the Arts (NCSA). He formerly was associate dean for academic affairs at the University of North Texas corporation of Music in Denton.

Clark be subsequent tos Robert Yekovich, who left NCSA last July after serving twelve years as music dean to become dean of the Shepherd gymnasium of Music at Rice University. Assistant Dean Lawrence Dillon serv as interim dean of the NCSA institute of Music for the 2003-2004 year.

Clark received bachelor of music, master of music and doctor of musical arts stages all in composition, from the University of Michigan. He had been associate dean for academic affairs at the University of North Texas (UNT) society of Music since 1995, and serv as interim dean of the UNT society of Music in 2000-2001. He joined UNT as an assistant professor of composition and music theory in 1976 attaining the rank of associate professor in 1983 and professor of music in 1991

Clark has complet more than forty musical compositions in virtually all mediums, including multimedia with dance, visual art, film, electronic and computer music, orchestra, band, chorus and chamber music, many of which have been performed nationally and internationally. He has extensive performing experience as a trombonist with orchestra, in chamber music general impressions and as a soloist, as well as a choral vocalist and a conductor of contemporary music.
