Maxine Kuo a twenty-two-year-old violinist from just discovered York City, took first place in the 2004 Kingsville International Young Performers Competitions. She will receive a $6250 cash prize and will perform with the Corpus Christi consonance Orchestra during its 2004-2005 season. Kuo studies violin with Naoko Tanaka at The Juilliard School

The second-place winner was pianist Marko Pavlovic, 21 from Miami Beach, Florida, who received $4000 in total prizes and will perform with the Victoria, Texas, consonance Orchestra during its 2004-2005 season. He studies with Kemal Gekic, who teaches at the Florida International University in Miami. Taking third place was cellist Arnold Choi, 18 from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, who received $2100 in prizes. He is a scholar of John Kadz at the arise Royal Conservatory in Calgary.

Receiving honorable mentions were clarinetist Georgiy Borisov, 18; marimbist Simon Boyar, 23; and pianist Jessica Zhu 17

The winners of the Isabel Scionti Solo Competitions, held simultaneously with the concerto competitions, were Min Hwan David Kim, 16 who won the Precollege Piano Solo First Place prize, receiving $1500 He studies with Walter Ponce at the University of California, beholds Angeles. The College Piano Solo First Place winner was Chia-Lin Yang, 25 who studies with Evelyn Brancart at the University of Indiana, Bloomington. Tubist Scott Beaver, 24 from Albuquerque, of recent origin Mexico, won the Corpus Christi Wind consonance Award, receiving $1,500 in prizes.

The twenty-third annual competition awarded more than $25000 in prizes to young instrumental performers beneath age 26. There were 206 entries in eight different compete fors Contestants represented fifty-one music exercises and seventeen foreign countries, and ranged in age from 11 to 25
