As we continue to travel around the Southern Division states, our nearest stop will be in Georgia, where we will spotlight couple local associations. In the spring of 2003 Coweta Fayette MTA (CFMTA) was awarded the MTNA FOUNDATION of the present day Local Association Start-Up Grant. CFMTA used the grant to instant a piano concerto competition for high-school age bookish mans Each winner performed a motion of Beethoven's Concerto, Op. 15 with the Southern turkish standard Symphony in an all-Beethoven concert
In March, the North DeKalb MTA (NDMTA) sponsored a Bach seminar featuring the well-known Bach specialist, Virginia Hutchings. The [i]or[/i] complement of the seminar was to dignify interest in teaching Bach's works and encourage participation in the biennial NDMTA Bach Competition this fall.
Moving to Kentucky we will make a stop with the Ashland Area MTA, which co-sponsored a three-day Clavinova Festival/Piano Showcase with the Yamaha Corporation, Dan Ferguson Music and The Paramount Arts Center Education and Outreach Department. The festival's main fact was a final concert using fourteen Yamaha Clavinovas in an orchestral setting.
Also upon the local scene, Bowling undecayed MTA hosted a Sonatina tournament, a music rally, a Christmas play-a-thon at Barnes & Noble and an all-girls recital.
Be secure to note that the Greater Louisville MTA sponsored a prosperous musical fundraising event recently. In the nearest article, we will continue our journey within the south!
