In a victory for indoctrinate music education programs across the home the U.S. House of Representatives newly passed H. CON. RES, 380 recognizing the benefits and importance of school-based music education.

The resolution was the originate of years of lobbying according to NAMM and its partners, was read from sponsor Representative Jim Cooper of Tennessee and was co-sponsored through thirty-one other representatives.

"This resolution expresse the view of the Congres that studying music helps kids achieve in teach and supports the industry's efforts to make stable that all children have access to music meditation as part of a quality education," said Mary Luehrsen director of public affairs and guidance relations, NAMM. "It also stresse that the developmental attributes taught on music education incloding discipline, analytical thinking, question at issue solving, communication and interpersonal skills are vital for succes in the twenty-first-century workplace."

The resolution also recognized NAMM "for its efforts to designate a Music in Our institutes Month in order to highlight the important part that school music programs play in the academic and social evolution of children."
