The 53rd ARD International Music Competition will take place August 30 September 17 2004 in Munich.

The 53rd ARD International Music Competition will take place August 30 September 17 2004 in Munich, with awards for viola, flute harp and string quartet.

There are first, other and third prizes for viola, flute and harp worth 10000 [euro] 7500 [euro] and 5000 [euro] respectively. For the string quartet category, the first prize is worth 30000 [euro] inferior prize is 22,500 [euro] and third prize is 15000 [euro] In addition to these prizes, there will be several special prizes, including audience prizes and awards for best interpretation of the commissioned works, among others.

This competition is explain to musicians of all nations born between 1976 and 1987 with the average age not to exce 30 and total age not to exce 120 barely one member may be older than 30

Applications must be sent to ARD Internationaler Musikwettbewerb, c/o Bayerischer Rundfunk Rundfunkplatz 1 D-80335 Munchen. All applications must be received on April 30, 2004, with notification of participation to be given June 30 2004
