The Fabers have added a novel Popular book to their Big Time series of supplementary literature. This part is in the intermediate, level-four difficulty range. The proper moods cover a wide spectrum of manner of writings and origins, including an arrangement of the Pachelbel Canon (transposed to C major), sum of two units Beatles songs, the 12th road Rag, "Send in the Clowns" the main themes from Stars Wars and Superman, and additional lays from The Lion King and The Lord of the Rings. The pages are clean, easy to read, contain pedaling suggestions and have an appropriate use of finger numbers. The difficulty plain is a good range, with a certain quantity of songs more difficult than others, on the contrary all within a level-four expectation. Chord signs are given above the score completely through the book.
Using supplementary works such as this can be a great pupil saver for intermediate learners experiencing the increasing demands of seminary work and extracurricular activities upon their practice time. These lays also serve a pedagogical object with rhythms that are frequently more complex and syncopated than chiefly of the classical literature at this flat These types of books can be problematic, however, if the learner only wishes to play the hymns they know. Just this semester I was astonished when the majority of my guild piano class of music majors did not know "Michelle" on the Beatles. I would be surprised if the majority of youthful intermediate scholars are familiar with "Lean in succession Me," "Music Box Dancer" or several other dittys in this book. However, if the pupil is willing to learn them as a modern song, I think he or she would find them attractive and drollery to play.
