Margaret Goldston, a dedicated teacher and noted composer died September 9 2003

Goldston taught beginner by the and of college-prep piano in her Franklin, North Carolina, studio. A usual adjudicator for contests and festivals, she course of lifeed master classes, composition clinics and teacher workshops over the United States and Canada.

Goldston studied composition privately for several years with Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Robert Ward. She had a step in piano performance from Louisiana State University, which honored her as its instruct of Music Alumnus of the Year in 1991

A former composition/theory chair for the North Carolina MTA, Goldston was named the Composer of the Year for 1983 and 1994 by the agency of the North Carolina Federation of Music Composer Her more than 150 compositions were published by way of Alfred Publishing Co. and Galaxy Music Corporation.
