Ten years ago, I attended my first MTNA National meeting for consultation in Spokane, Washington, with sum of two units friends. As undergraduate students at Brigham Young University, we worried about for what cause attending the conference would affect our schooling mad our preparation for upcoming recitals. As we scraped together on the outside pennies to buy plane tickets and pay for motel charges we wondered if conference attendance faithfully would be worth the sacrifices we were making.

The magical capacity of work of meeting with so many other music teachers and observers at the Spokane conference has had a lasting impact upon my teaching.
