The American Music parley (AMC) has launched a just discovered Web resource.

The American Music parley (AMC) has launched a just discovered Web resource, www.themusicedge.com, to be joined young people with each other and the world of music making.

This site provides extensive resources for teenagers interested in music, including information about instruments, music terminology, advice from well-known musicians, for what reason to get started in a band, finding other players and setting up gigs. There also is a bulletin board where teen musicians can communicate with other musicians.

"Music making benefits all age assemblages from young children to the elderly" says AMC Associate Executive Director Laura Johnson "This website gives young folks the opportunity to explore all facets of music making, and helps them make the leap from passive music listening to active music playing."

AMC, grounded in 1947, is a national nonprofit educational association dedicated to promoting the importance of music, music making and music education to the general public.
