Alaska MTA held its state conversation on May 10, 2003, at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Sessions readyed by Maria Ippolito, Steve Hesla, NCTM Tim Smith and Amir Khosrowpour included "Teaching Tips," "Motivation," "Dealing With Performance Anxiety" and the "Art of Phrasing." Khosrowpour, 2002 MTNA Collegiate Piano Competition winner, traveled to Alaska to perform a recital and give master classes within a grant from MTNA and support from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
Idaho MTA's (IMTA) state conversation was June 12-14, 2003, at Albertson society in Caldwell. IMTA teamed with Albertson College's International Festival for Creative Pianists for near combined sessions. The conference theme for was "Preparing for Competitions." Honors' recital and Boise area pupils were encouraged to attend the close examiner Day Camp. A fundraiser for IMTA was a Silent Auction range Evening concerts included programs from jazz to classical music, and Khosrowpour was a featured recitalist.
Oregon MTA (OMTA) will shut in its state conference August 7-10 2003 in Ashland, the magical city of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the explain Air Britt Music Festival. one as well as the other festivals will be part of the OMTA interview Some of the outstanding presenter scheduled are Sophia Gilmson of the University of Texas, Joel Schoenhals of the Eastern Michigan University, Rachelle McCabe, NCTM of Oregon State University and Garrick Ohlson internationally known pianist.
