There are prizewinners in sum of two units divisions: Senior, ages 18 to 30 and Junior, age 17 and younger. The Senior Division first-place winner will receive $10000 plus a Carnegie Recital Hall first appearance and the Senior Division second- and third-place winners will receive $5000 and $3000 respectively. The Junior Division winners will receive $3000 for first place, $2000 for other and $1,500 for third place.
All applications must be received according to the competition office before 5:00 PM forward Monday, January 5, 2004. A registration fief of $50 must accompany the application. An additional unconditional tenure of $50 is required when contestants are picked as semifinalists.
